Sound like a broadcaster….
not a beginner.
You know your subject well. But when you go on-air… it doesn’t sound right.
What you’re missing is the craft — the pacing, presence, and the interview instincts that separate a boring listen from one which truly grips people.
I spent more than 20 years at the BBC, including a decade on a major national network, making some of the biggest names around sound the best on air.
Now I bring those skills to individual podcast hosts - like you.
This isn’t generic coaching on RSS feeds, growth hacks and analytics. This is performance and interview technique from someone who's done thousands of hours of live broadcast.
This is about making you the best podcaster you can be.
Why work with me?
“James and I make the podcast Can We Have Your Attention?" together. Before working with James, I had never before hosted, guested, or otherwise appeared on an audio programme.
Prior to making this podcast, my previous experience making programmes was in London-based agencies with teams of people - five, sometimes ten, sometimes more - and budgets to match. Working with James has been like working with ten people in a London agency - that's how good he is.
James trained me on how to present and host, and has coached me with real expertise and warmth on everything from my presentation style to how to get the best quality audio while recording remotely.
He makes guests feel completely at ease, and coaches wonderful, thoughtful interviews with intelligent guests on a range of subjects. His editorial skills and ear for audio also means we have a high quality podcast, that I'm proud to be a part of and would proudly recommend to colleagues and advertisers.
He's an exceptional creator and creative partner, and I've learned so much from him.
For anyone looking to improve their presentation and performance as a podcast guest or host, James is your man.
For anyone looking for high quality, good value, professional media training - James is your man.
And for producing a corporate podcast - James is your man.
